CoderDojo NYC Business Volunteer
CoderDojo NYC focuses on creating a fun, collaborative environment for youth to explore, develop, and learn web and app development skills. CoderDojo NYC currently hosts monthly workshops with a network of 300 mentors and 1,500 families in the Greater New York Area. It has received recognition from The White House, Forbes, The New York Times, and NBC.
- Created a consolidated, 10 page business plan with a specific emphasis on growth strategies. Market opportunities and recommended positioning were formulated based on a simplified SWOT analysis combined with a detailed competitor analysis regarding both regional non-profits and companies focused on providing technical education through online courses or in-person boot camps. - Analyzed volunteer/mentor recruitment and retention with a focus on data collection and community building. - Recommended strategies to increase fundraising capabilities through sponsorship. Specific improvements included clarification of the organization's value proposition based on targeted sponsor needs and a firmer definition of sponsor roles. These strategies were reached through independent research and bench marking of fundraising metrics with similar organizations |
